Feeding New Anemone w/ Hosting Clowns

I purchased a pair of GSM Clowns a few weeks ago. They wandered aimlessly around the tanks so I thought I would get them a Bubble Tip Anemone to host in.

I went to the LFS found a really nice one and placed it in the tank. The Clowns found it in literally less then a minute and have not left it since. This is my first experience with this, so this may sound stupid, however, it is the most amazing site I have ever seen. I kept coming out of bed all night long to watch them!

My question is: How do I feed the anemone? Do I chase the clowns away to feed it? Feed it with them in it? Don't feed it and rely on the clowns to take care of it? Other Suggestions?

don't rely on the fish to do anything you will need to feed them. I used to chase mine away when I spot fed them. I have fourteen now in the tank so the clowns swim from one to another, no problems. You can try Cyclop-Eeze to feed the tank. The fish go crazy for it and the nems will get alot of it themselves so you won't have to spot feed.

your best bet is to spot feed them with pieces of food atleast 2X bigger than the food your feed the fish. Just use chopsticks or something similar to brush the food up against the anemone. A turkey baster works too if the hole is big enough for the fod to fit through.

Try a couple times without stressing the fish by chasing them. Feed the clowns first. If they don't let the anemone eat then you can try chasing them or using an isolation basket etc. My clarkii will carry over-sized food into one of her anemones. You just won't know how individual fish act until you give them a chance.
