Feeding Question

When I feed I never turn off my pumps, but I have seen a couple of stores do it. Do any of you turn off your pumps and powerheads before you feed? And is there really any benefit?

The benefit is that the food will settle down and give time for slower/shy fish to grab the food.

I should turn at least the powerheads off, but I don't. I just overfeed a bit and clean out the skimmer every other day. At least that is me.

too lazy to turn off the pumps, flakes stay around long enough for everyone to get their share.
