Feeding regimen?

I have been feeding my tiny (1.5 - 2") mantis a piece or two of mysis per night.

Just curious if this is adequate?

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Should be able to eat more then 2 mysis a day. Personally I use krill and try to make at least 10% of body mass available each day.

Maybe one of the pro's will chime in on more exact ratio's.

not sure who you are asking, but I use frozen Krill for the mantis and whatever frozen mysis they can catch while feeding the fish.

ok, thanks.

well, this little guy has covered his hole today with rubble and hasnt come out. I assume he is molting.

I hope.

When he is done, I'll feed more.

Do u guys only feed when u actually can see the mantis to offer it food on a skewer? I know my little guy only comes out of its caves every few days so it only gets fed when he is visible.

My current is pretty heavy so throwing some raw shrimp in there is outta the question since it will be sucked up by the powerhead b4 he would have a chance to find it and catch it.

put the food on skewer and place it near one of its hiding places then feed your tank normally.

Mine will automatically go to feeding areas if I stay with the regimen.

That used to work till I gave him a few LBs of new LR last week....now I can't find where he is hiding now and don't want to disturb his new hiding spaces.

I guess a 20L is too big for a 1 1/2 mantis:p
