feeding rics

I've seen on one of these threads a ric eating mysis shrimp ( i think). Are they frozen and when you feed them are you targeting feeding?

I have tryed to feed mine but for the most part the seem to like the phyto and stuff that is smallerlike that. But you might get them to eat frozen.

I thaw my mysis and wash them off to remove the extra nutrients that are contained in the cube, and then i merinate them in selcon and cyclopeeze overnight and target feed the next day. Here's one of my rics slurping a mysis down.

I have three rics and two out of the three will eat pieces of the frozen mysis shrimp blocks. It is neat to watch them take a piece of food.

how well does feeding just cyclopeeze work??? or feeding cyclopeeze period

It's actually pretty neat to watch them eat the cyclop-eeze. They basically sense it is near and create a "net" out of mucus to catch it and then slowly suck the net back in.

When I feed the cyclop-eeze I turn off the powerheads and use a turkey baster to target feed the liquid that is left in the cup (a mixture of tank water, selcon, and cyclop-eeze) after I have tweasered out and target fed most of the larger pieces of mysis. I basically just let gravity take over in the baster (or squeeze VERY lightly) and the mixture slowly falls onto the oral disk of the ric I'm targetting. If you squeeze the baster too hard it'll blow everything off the ric.
