feeding serpent star

I know these guys are filter feeders to a great degree and will generally scavenge whatever leftovers they can find.

However, can I feed them diced up tiger prawn or some other fresh seafood items ?

I have fed mine with some brine and tweezers, but only because I was bored. That was only once and it has been thriving for 6 months now. However I do think it ate my Geometric Perchlet. I would say feeding is unnecessary and it will find left over food on it's own.

Occasionally I'll give mine a silverside or something but that's probably only been a half a dozen times in about 3 years. They drag it off into a cave or crevice to hide it to let it rot a bit. Then if the cleaner shrimp doesn't steal it they get a treat.
