Feeding shrimp to blue carpet gigantea

So I went to the local grocery store and got a fresh not frozen piece of shrimp. I cut it into pieces and fed one piece directly to the middle of my anenome. it curled up like it was eating it but today I found that piece of shrimp at the bottom corner of my tank. Could the piece been too big for it? Or do I have a picky eater?

That it spit it out might be an indicator that it was too large or that you overfed it.

Most anemones feed on plankton and small crustacean. Big fish or shrimp are usually not on the menu.
IMO large chunks bear the risk that they start rotting before the anemone can digest them.

I feed my giganteas Mysis on a daily basis and so far none of them has spit anything out.

How long have you had this carpet? i dont feed my new carpet until it past 1 month mark. alot of people are in a hurry to feed their new carpet, IMO, this might cause the anemone to go on the decline. My carpets never have a problem waiting after 1 month.

Looks slightly bleached but hard to tell from the pic.
Is it sticky ? if not it may not be able to hang on too the food.

I just fed it this morning a small piece, we will see.

Its very sticky, but maybe too big of a chunk the first time. I just fed it this morning a small piece, we will see. he hasn't moved and is directly under the light with great flow all week. The clown tried biting me when feeding the shrimp to him.
