feeding straw

OK...what exactly are the mechanics of a feeding straw?

Stupid, I know. But what sort of straw do you use, and how do you get the food IN the straw...and how do you keep it from floating back up the straw?

what i would do is just get a sturdy straw and put the food in it and then get a big cup and pour water down the straw untill the food comes out

I use a plastic eyedropper I got for free from rite aid.
Thaw food in tank water, suck up the food in as little water as possible, shove in front of the mantis...

i just use forceps, tongs, or chopsticks, really LONG chopsticks
