I just feed a bunch but never worry that every head get some. Almost 2 years later, it has grown many new heads and is doing great.
 
Yes you should. i'd say to ditch the bucket and feed under a cup inside the tank if you can. Much easier and much less stress on the coral. This is how i do mine
