Feeding time

Fed the aquarium flakes today for first time. Watched in horror as the wave maker chopped it up into a million pieces and blew it all around the tank. Is this OK or would you advise turning it off for feeding?

I would turn it off to give the fish opportunity to eat and you can monitir the amount you are feeding.

The only issue with leaving the pumps on is that the fine bits are not going to get eaten by your fish and then just become unnecessary nutrients in your tank. Those nutrients can lead to higher nitrates and phosphates. If your tank is low in nitrates and phosphates this isnt a problem, if your nitrates or phosphates are already high you should turn off your pumps. Corals will eat some of the fine pieces if you have corals.

Doesn't your wavemaker have a feed button?

Have soft corals. This is my first saltwater aquarium.
