Feeding Triggers

I just got a picasso trigger (about 2-3 inches) and a niger trigger (about 4-5 inches). I have veggie and shrimp pellets as well as mysis shrimp. Any specific recommendations for feeding?

I thought triggers needed to eat hard foods but the LFS said no.

Thanks!

Mine triggerfish loves to eat frozen mysis and brine shrimp cube mine is enriched with spirulina.. They also may enjoy a dried seaweed/nori sheet clipped to the inside of a tank mine like this very much as a supplement... You could also try a freeze dried shrimp which mine also like.

I have a huma huma and a niger... They both eat everything I feed the tank... Mysis, plankton, shrimp, krill, scallops, squid, and flake food. I say that it is best to mix it up

I feed mine a home made froze mix of shrimp, clams, oysters, mussels, squid, cyclopeeze, spirulina, fish roe, golden pearls, selcon and some ground up flake food all my fish go nuts for it

Triggers are not picky eaters. They do best on a carnivore diet though. I had a Niger and Huma together for 5 years in my previous set up, can't find a much better combo IMO....Provided you have a decent size tank.

i feed my niger trigger NLS pellets, Rogger's Reef Food and frozen brine soaked in Zoe over night in the fridge. I usually add a scallop or clam on the half shell every once and a while.
He cant's get enough.
I feed him 2-3 per day.

i go to the super market and get frozen shrimp(un cooked),defrost, cut them up and they go crazy. use your tank water to defrost them
