I have a sps tank and was just wondering how much do you guys feed your fish? Meaning what it considered heavy feeding. I have a 130 gallon tank with 12 fish in it. two tangs then mostly small fish. My po4 is .03-.05 and my sps colors seem to be going dull. The tank has been setup as ulns since inception. My nitrates have been 0-1.0 for the whole time. I feed the fish once or twice a day. I feed them two pinchs of flake food. Is this light feeding?

I try and feed my fish as often as I think about it... Maybe 2 to 3 times a day... But I also have a beast of a protein skimmer to pull out any excess nutrients/ detritus that results from the feeding... A lot of flow helps keeps waste in the water column so that your protein skimmer may work more efficiently...

what are you feeding 2 three times a day and how much? I have great flow and a ATB skimmer so I should be good in that department.

I feed my fish about 3 times a day unless I forget. I feed hikari/spectrum pellets, cyclopeez, frozen mysis and brine shrimp. I received this Instant Ocean gel food free with my order from LA, everyone really likes that too. I don't feed this stuff all at once, but I rotate what I feed them each time. Usually I feed the frozen mysis and brine shrimp together.

I feed 2 cubes of frozen to all of my systems: 3x5', 6x2.5', 2x3', and 2: 40 long tanks. That's altogether not two cubes each. I feed two pinches of pellets/cyclopeez to my tanks with larger fish and 1 pinch to my tanks with smaller fish. My 2x3' tank has very small fish, so I don't feed them much at all.

I figure it is better to feed my fish less but more often. That way I don't put a lot of food in the water and they get too full. I feel variety is very important because I sure wouldn't want to eat the same food day after day. I've also noticed that my friends that feed only pellet or dry food have very fat fish, which I think is unattractive.
