feeding

I have a question about how often you feed your tank. I have a reef tank and feed it twice a day but with messy fish I think that would be to often, but I am new to FO.

Thanks

It depends on the fish. Baby fish need 1-2/day feedings. Grazing fish need 1-2/day feedings. Predatory fish like groupers, lionfish, anglers or morays, etc. need feedings only 3-5x per week.

I have a 75gal tank with small dogface puffer and a small niger trigger. I have been feeding them once a day and I only add a little at a time so that they finish everything off. I was reading on hear that somebody fed only a couple of times a week and it got me curious.

Thanks

some carnivorous fish need only to be fed a few times a week whe they are adults, but when they are still growing (which most captive fish are for several years) they need to be fed daily, with the possiblity of one day a week fast.
when they are adults you only want to feed a few times a week, because when they are full grown the concentrated protein can become damaging, where when they are growing they use alot more of that protein. jsut like puppies into dogs.
