How do you feed a clam that wont open when you go to feed it?

I hardly ever spot feed my clam i usually just let the light and fish poop do the job of feeding it. Sometimes ill dose the tank with plankton, but havnt been spot feeding them though.

good advice, spot feeding is not required and can actually cause more problems than good ( to much to fast ). as long as the clam is getting good strong light and you have a few fish that you feed regularly then supplemental feeding isn't necessary but if you do want to add some phytoplankton to the tank, the clam and other will be more than happy to use it.
