Feeling Deflated...

No need to worry, those 2 receptacles are fed from another set of receptacles under the right side of the bench, where they are protected by a gfci.
I'm actually a licensed electrician. Local 353

Awesome. Local 349 here!

Apologies, couldn't see from the pic.

Switch to triton method, leave tank fallow for two months, while fallow add very small amounts of food per day and light cycle on as you normally would

I did this, then TTM the fish only to have a piece of coral bring ick immediately back in to the tank:headwallblue::headwallblue::headwallblue::headwallblue:

This is my second fallow period in 10 months caused by corals bringing it back in to the tank

My tank now just has ich as a resident and I still may shoot it in to the sun.

Nice come back and way to not give up! The advice given within this thread was top notch. It's so great to see the thoughts and ideas flowing, so many possible factors.

I am new to these frowns and the Internet and the information that's out here on the www I live on a remote island in Alaska.I have had a reef tank for 25 years but my hobby was a solitary one just me and around a dozzen books.I am loving the Internet I can't stop reading and waching you tube videos on reef keeping my vitamin D hast to be getting low.I have had petty good success with my tanks using the books and trial and error over the years. All this new information can be a bit overwhelming and make me a little dizzy. You don't need all the latest and greatest to have a good and rewarding tank. What I have learned over the years is know your water test test test and if you still don't find a problem send your water to someone you can. At that point with a clear picture of the water you are keeping you can start to correct it.So now to my advice send your water off to have full testing done both your tank and makeup water mixed with your brand of salt and when the test comes back you can see what is good and what is bad and then start to correct it slowly.Just remember you are just keeping water get that right and your reef will thank you.

I have a small point to add. Great thread by the way, I'm glad things are coming around for you. May or may not have seen pressure treated lumber on top of a sump? If so I wouldn't. It's loaded with chemicals that can leach.
