Femininus wrasse pair + Anampses chrysocephalus pair

Hi everyone this is my first time to post on this forum :)

I'm after putting a fish order into my LFS and here's the list as follows

New Guinea wrasse (female)
Iridis wrasse
Pair of red tailed wrasse (Anampses chrysocephalus)
Femininus wrasse (female)
Earmuff wrasse

But my question is if I got a male femininus so I have a pair of femininus would they be ok in the same tank as the red tailed pair?

Thanks for looking

Graham

That's a beautiful tank.

It's a bit small for a 2 pairs of anampses wrasse though IME. They get quite big when mature - at least 6 inches.

I have a pair of red tails and 2 female femininus. The females are happy to share the tank with the red tails, but it's nearly 400 gallons.

Definitely a gorgeous tank. I agree with Tangaroa, I think the tank is too small for the number of fish that graze on copepods.

+1

Also, the males of both red tails and femininus have a voracious appetite. I feed mine big chunks of RS mysis 3 times a day. I don't know what filtration method you have but it wouldn't take long for your PO4 levels to go through the roof and for it to affect your sps.

Thanks everyone for your replies

The tank is over 100gallons it's 3ft x 3ft can't remember how high :(

Thanks for the comments on the tank :)

My filtration is zeovit so I can cope with feeding 3 times

All these fish are feeding on frozen food, flake and pellets so Copepods won't be a problem really

Other than the size of the tank would the two pairs be ok together?

If I have to drop the red tails I will in order to keep the femininus pair

If you had 300G+ I'd say yes. I've only kept my femi pair in my 400G and I would not add any more Anampses as these guys are very happy.
Absolutely agree.

With all due respect, that statement is simply incorrect. Sure, you can supplement their feeding with prepared foods, but that will NOT alter their natural diet/instinct of hunting pods all day, nor will prepared foods solely sustain them.

I do not see this setup large enough to keep Anampses wrasses at all. You have a gorgeous tank, but I would certainly rethink your stocking direction. Your substrate is a bit coarse for the sand sleepers too.

+1 to everything here. While there is always the possibilities of exceptions to these statements, the degree of difficulty and therefore the degree of dedication needed to keep more than a single anampses in this tank, let alone multiple pairs, makes what you are attempting quite difficult.

I think we are all suggesting the same thing.
