fever is back

hey there,

tank has been back up about 6 months now after being torn down, rebuilt and corals treated for AEFW. Have been moving some frags over. The fever is back. Have just been placing frags anywhere to acclimate to the lighting and tank, most are coloring up but have still have a ways to go. Here's a quick pic

Come On!! Everyone is doing it!!! lol

frag plug/tile started off to keep zoas from growing onto the egg crate. Comes in handy for other purposes too, like sticking the tile in the sand to keep frag of frag from falling over. I started placing corals this way for easy removal, because the first few frag attempts didn't go well, total brownout and STN. Once everyone is in and stays happy for a few weeks it will be super glue city

I like the idea of gluing the frag sticks to the frag discs/tiles. I will be stealing (I would say borrowing, but I'm not giving it back, so I'm clearly stealing) that idea.

I also love any browned out acros I've ever bought or had happen, because seeing it grow and re-color has been extremely satisfying. Once I setup my 180g, I plan on quarantining all corals for around six months before ever adding them to the 180g. I'm actual setting up the quarantine tanks tomorrow. It's a 20" Reef Savvy cube and a 17"x17"x8" frag tank. It will be a nice little setup, but the main purpose is that all corals will spend months in this small setup before ever being put into the 180g. So, it will look more like a really nice nano setup, but the main purpose is for quarantining everything before it ever goes into the 180g... if I ever get the 180g up and running, lol.

yea man. do it up!! I am looking forward to seeing how these corals color up and grow out. Quarantine everything you put in the 180. I have been through many of the pests, AEFW and MENB being my least favorite, however bryopsis, vermited snails, and invasive paly's are not much fun either. If AEFW show up in this tank, I will unplug it lol

thanks, 3-250w, sunlight supply reef optics 3 pendants, blue wave ballasts, and cheapo Odysea 20K bulbs. Also 6 heat sinks, with approx. 55 RB and 10 BL LED, which still need to be completed with a few warm white, lime and violets (maybe cyan), so tank doesn't look blue when halides are off.

MH? Really? :hammer:

Isnt everyone else running LED?:wildone:

Subulata is looking awesome
definitely a keeper, is the limeade same as yours? or do I have to wait for that frag to grow out

not everyone lol, still got some on the tank, wish I had room for a couple fluorescent bulbs though

still running LED on a couple nano's which do pretty good for LPS/softies

Going back to MH for the upgrade.

yea man, over the addiction went from PC to VHO to T5, then all LED, back to T5/LED, first time running halides on the display, what was I thinking all those years lol.

here's a pic of the biocube that got set up around the same time 150g. All LED it's a DIY nanobox knockoff

I followed the same sequence, minus full LED. I'm stuck with T5/LED for now, but for the new tank will be going with MH, likely 400w.

Nano looks great. Great color.
