Few changes

I went out yesterday in seek of LR. We went snorkling the other day and I got a few pieces of LR. I did not find many pieces that were up to snuff, so I decided to try and buy some. So we went down to the shop in naha and got some.

The store's setup was very bad. They did lean more to freshwater, and their marine livestock was not healthy looking. Their LR looked in good shape, so we got 5 kilos. The only problem is the pieces were very small on average, about the size of a coaster. I would have bought more if the pieces were bigger. I figure I need about another 5-10 kilos of LR, but i'll probably get more. I also bought a gold colored tube worm, I assume it is a feather duster, while I was there.

As soon as I put him in, he threw up all over the damn place. guess he was car sick :). Within an hour he opened up and has been out since. I fed him some phyto this morning. How often should I feed him? I heard these things eat A LOT.

I also up'd my sand bed. Got sand from the pet box. From left to right it goes from 2" to 3.5". Hopefully my bio filtration will be upped with my deeper sand bed and new LR. Today or tommorow i'm going to order my new lights. Sorry to say, due to money issues, I'm going to go with a 4x54w t5 hood and not do the retro with a custom hood. Maybe next year I can dismantle the hood and do a custom hood and stand. Also getting some more test kits, and a new airstone to put in my berlin seaclone :).

Here is the setup as it looks now.... I'm going to get another seio and once my sand storm settles a little more I'm going to pull the plug on my canister filter, keep it at the ready with carbon ad a micron filter. I thu that light fdoki gave to me on temporarily because i had a bunch of zoos pop up on a piece of LR.

Looking good. Be careful about placing the rock too close to sides of the tank. It makes it real difficult to clan the glass. I recommend a good 2 to 3 inch space between the glass and the rock so you can get a magnet thru.

I had 2 feathers.. never feed them, they did fine untill my 10 gal killed them.. oh well, need to get some more.

Went snorkeling today up past onna village at a place called turtle beach. Well we were beach partying and decided to jump in anyways. it was really dead there except for the random hunk of live rock or brain coral. The were convered with clams and christmas tree feathers. There were clams everywhere.

:D I'd gladly do the leg work if i knew how to harvest them from the ocean! When this typhoon passes someone can teach me

On my tank note... It has been 2 days since i removed my canister filter and my nitrates still are not down. I'm starting to doubt the ability of my test kit.
