yea its cyano, caused by lights on to long, not enough flow, over feeding... from what ive been told.. and supposly if u use tap water it will do that.. im thinking maybe i need to change my membrain on my ro/di?

Yes its cyano which isnt actually an algae its a bacteria. Sweep out that part of the sand next time you do a water change, and add more flow, also some phoszorb might help also how long has ur tank been up?

Cyano has nothing to do with lights being left on too long it occurs naturally in every aquarium where their is live rock their cyano. Its part of your cycle and excess nutrients in the water is all.
