Great pics! I'm impressed by the sharpness and detail. The first two pics look a little overexposed- if you bring down the exposure you'll probably get a little more detail and saturation.

Greg,Thank you very much.Thoses comments comming from you are very much appreciated.I agree the 2 pics are overexposed.I'll play with exposure in the Kodak software and or photoshop.
Photoshop can help somewhat with underexposure but with overexposure-- once those details go white you can't get them back. Best to slightly underexpose in the camera if you're shooting a very contrasty scene. Also, the higher the iso the less photoshop can help in terms of exposure correction.
2 snails,I forget what kind.I think the white stuff are eggs. They were together like that all morning then I started seeing the eggs.
Thanks for the Photoshop tip Greg. The wife and I checked out your website, those are some amazing pics. The pics you took of your recent trip were spectacular. My wife said it felt like she was actually there.
I've used my DX6490 for over 5 years now and love the camera. For the price, you can't beat it and it's very user freindly. All it takes is a lot of practice and alot of playing around with the different settings. It is liimited in what you can do, but for less than 300.00$ you can't go wrong.
