Thanks, It is a Nikon D70.

All the shots but the first one were taken with the 18-70mm lens that I Purchased with the camera.

The first macro shot of the was taken with a Nikon 105mm

im sold on the d70 now... I definately think the white balance adjusting will help a great deal over the d50. Am I right or does the d50 have WB customizing?

It is the old 105 not the new VR

excellent photos....taken like a pro

Thanks I am a real amatuer though lots to learn

great photos...your fish have such personality in them
Amazing how the interact with us i love my starry blennies they are a riot.
Getting a good picture isn't easy, Thats why I love digital :)

Are you satisfied with the results from the 105 you have. I'm not 100% sold on an extra $200+ for VR and SWM.??? What are your thoughts?

I am happy with the results and definately didn't see spending the extra money. Actually I never considered the new model it was a choice between the Sigma and the older model Nikon.

However I do consider myself a amatuers at best and my decision was based from recomendations from more experienced photographers. That being said I have no regrets.

hey guys

hey guys

I have a kodak7630, its a cheapie, not an slr or dslr like your sexy Nikond70, great pics btw. I have a question, I am essing with the appature and shutter speeds and iso to get the right balance. Do youhave an suggestions for a newbie to photog to get a decent macro shot here with this POS?

Right now I can set it to F4.0 1/40 iso 100 no flash.

Sorry to highjack but I see all these great shots with awesome cameras I was hoping to get a good camera too eventually but for now.

David

you have to try to get you shutter speed faster other wise evrything from motion of subject to motion of photographer will not allow for 'clear' shots. Try working with your flash a bit, since you dont have a diffuser you could try a little wax paper over the flash head.
just keep practicing ...

also you don't mention anything about photo editing software, it's a must for the best in imaging results.

Very good pictures. i'm getting the nikon d50. i know its not as great as the d70, but can't afford it. good job with yours though!
