Nice tank. And kind of daring, with a big angel in with corals and a Moorish Idol. Is the Idol eating ok, how long have you had it? I wish my rabbitfish looked that cool.

I have had the Idol since March. I actually had two but one did not make it, not because it was not eating but because the one you see in the picture decided that one Idol in the tank was enough. It was not pretty. The surviving Idol eats Algae, Formula 1 cubes, Angel Food cubes, silversides, spectrum pellets and sponge I keep in the tank, he also nips at coraline algae. The angel actually came from a tank were he nipped at corals, and that is why the owner sold him to me, but that owner was feeding once a week. I feed a little more frequently. So neither the Angel nor Idol nip.

interesting comment about the idol. i orginally had two as well and then after about two weeks one turned on the other for no apparent reason. like you said it was not pretty and a little disturbing. i thought it was another fish in the tank but then i saw them go at each other. the surving idol is thriving and has tripled in size. had him about a year now and he eats everything in site. i have seen tanks with schools of idol so i was confused why this happened. maybe you either need one or three +

I did a little more reading on it and it looks like it should be 1 or 4+ You can have similar issues with 3. What makes it worst for me is that a friend and I tried for 1.5 hours to get the other one out when he was still healthy. We could not get the guy out. They swim so slow and graceful, you wouldn't think they could move so fast. Interesting thing is mine started going at each other after about 2 weeks as well, and they only fought when the main lights were on. Once the lights were off, they swam together as if everything was ok. Weird.
