my wife purchased a mushroom rock from our LFS, and we found some pretty awesome hitchhikers under the mushrooms! The discoma mushrooms bailed off the rock, and we found 3 of these fan worms! They act just like any other fan worm I have seen, darting back into it's hole when disturbed, and rotating around to catch the current just right. but the weird thing is the head on these worms are iridescent ! they catch the light and change color as you change the angle of your view, or as they move. it looks like their heads aer made of fiber optic hairs! they seem to be thriving, but I would be curious to know anything about them! can anybody ID these? included are a few pics. they are all of the same worms, but at slightly different angles....
