Fiberglass Rods for Rock???

I should be starting my rock work soon, and was wondering... What size of fiberglass rods should I use??? The tank is only a 29G, and I have 25# of Reef Saver, and 25# Tonga shelf, which I probably will not use all of... Thanks in advance!!!

I use those skinny ones that are used to mark driveways in the winter. You can pick them up for next to nothing at any home improvement store.

Thanks!!! I scored two at HD on clearance for $1.51 each and they are about 5' in length... I almost bought just one, but figured for that price, WTH...
Now, what is the best way to affix the rods and rock together??? :p I know about the "foam" but unsure I would actually use it, because I think it looks "unsightly"... Unless I can get it out of sight (IE. into the holes...)... But IF I were to use it, what is the best way to affix the rock/rods until set??? Thanks again, folks... :)

I stack the rocks the way I want them in tank, then use a masonry bit on a good drill and drill down through the rocks where I want the rod to go. Try to hide the rods as much as possible as they will stick out like a sore thumb until covered with corraline algae. It also helps to tape out your tank footprint on your floor so you can get an idea of what the rocks will look like once stacked in the tank.

I'm looking to get some new rock and do this with my tank. Do you guys know the best place to get dried base rock? I used to use reef rocks

brs also sells small acrylic tubes that I used to connect rocks together.
OK... Acrylic tubes are not the best, from what I have read....Fiberglass is best... And you mentioned nothing about what you used to join rock to the acrylic... PLEASE mention such stuffs!!!

I used acrylic, drilled holes in the rock with my......drill and then used putty and some superglue.

Should I be worried about the acrylic? I'll look into it and see if I should take them out.
