Fiberglass Screen in Saltwater OK?

I have a 50 gallon rubbermaid sump that I want to divide. Half for frags, other half for refugium.

Can I use the Fiberglass screen that you use for screen doors to seperate the two?

I'm was thinkng of using it because it will allow water to pass through but not the algea from the refugium.

I just wanted to make sure that it wont release any toxins into the water.

It is hard to say for sure without knowing what "precisely coated with a protective material" actually means. My guess is that it is OK. I'd wash it with warm soapy water and rinse with a lot of fresh water.
