File saving question

Hey guys i was wondering what is the best color space to save a photo under as well as file format? thanks

For general internet purposes it is preferable to use JPEG with sRGB color space.

how bout for the best picture ever...lol just wondering...that is what i use for the net as well.

For the best picture ever, you keep the original - RAW, JPG or whatever came out from the camera - name it digital negative.
If it's about post processing (your precious creations :rollface then, the native format of the software you have used is preferable, i.e. PSD for Photoshop, XCF for GIMP etc.

cool cool. What about the color? sRGB, prophoto RGB or adobeRGB? it seems that saving a DNG would be an extra step just keeping the CR2 RAW would be good. also keeping the file PSD until it gets print. Is there a reason for this instead of keeping it .jpg? thanks

Although i think you are kidding me, i will answer one more time.
Keep the original (unmodified) for archive purposes and any valuable post processing in the format which is produced.

P.S. For archive purposes DNG is an option also.

I use Adobe LR which manages it's own colorspace. If I edit in Photoshop, I use ProPhotoRGB when saving the image as a master.

Anything to be posted on the web needs to be converted to sRGB.

i wasn't kidding just making sure i understood. as well to see if there was a reason to keep it .PSD other than the fact you can just make it .JPG when needed. I use LR as well and it defaults sRGB when exported but you have the option to change to prophoto or adobe RGB as well. so then would it be better to save as prophoto instead of sRGB? thanks
