Filefish

Hello,
I have noticed a few times over the last couple of months that you have put a type of filefish on diver's den that eats apistasia but I can't remember what type of file that was. It seems like they weren't real expensive ($30-$40). I wanted to know what kind it was and if you plan on having anymore on the diver's den anytime soon. Thanks for the help.

Thank you for your post. This month we offered a pair of Jade Filefish (Paramonacanthus japonicus) for under $60.00 through our Diver’s Den selection. The Jade Filefish has been known to consume Aiptasia.

We will be happy to check with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility on the future availability of the Jade Filefish. We will post the answer as soon as possible.

Thank you for the quick reply. I did see the Jade Files that were very neat. A pair would be nice to have. I have been doing some reading and think that the ones I am asking about may be Acreichthys tomentosus , the Bristle Tail File. Do you konw if you will have anymore of these?

Is the Acreichthys tomentosus considered reef safe?

Thank you for your post. Due to the likelihood of this fish eating other invertebrates, we do not recommend housing the Acreichthys tomentosus in a reef setup. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to let us know.

I was on vacation and couldnt check the updates like I usually do, by the time I knew the filefish had been posted it was gone. Just wondering if you have any more that are going to be available anytime soon? Thanks for the help.
