Fill a large tank

macboat

Nano simplicity
I know it is a dumb question....but, how did you fill your large tank? My RO/DI unit is only 50G/day, it will take 6 days to fill a 240G+50G sump. Commercial saltwater is way too expensive...

Any tips?

AZSB sells RO/DI water - or you can fill containers at a local water & ice shop to supplement your reverse osmosis system at home.

I like this advise more than anything else! :D

Isn't that the most obvious one? I mean why ask for an alternative if you know you can just be patient and wait six days.

Well... see if there are any better chance.

I couldn't wait, mine is 90gpd and I supplemented from the water store and drained my buddys resevoir 3 times (he has a 180gpd).

I have no patience :-)

I have little patience too....:( but patience is the king in the hobby right?

You could be impatiently patient and pull one of my bonehead moves and buy a new RO/DI or two or three that will meet your water production needs. Think of it as RO at every faucet in the house.

I feel your pain, I'm filling my 220 + 50 gallon sump and have made multiple trips to the fish store with over a dozen 5 gallon jugs to work on filling my new system

2 trash cans in the back of the van...
up to Water and Ice...
25 gallons (safely) in each can, 50 gallons per trip.....

also
I think the Top of the Reef sells pre-mixed for like .50 or .75 per gallon....

You definitely are one of the funniest person on this site.

I go to Arizon Water on 91st and peoria on wendnesdays and get RO/DI water for $0.15 a gallon. Been using it for over a year and it good stuff and and cheap otherwise it's $.30 a gallon. He also has the whole system built with windows so you can see what is filtering your water.

I was also thinking because I have alot of tanks I fill and empty i have 8-9 5 gallon Arrowhead water jugs I purchased off them while back that i use. If you would like to borrow them to cut down on the trips made. Or if you not mind $10 for gas i'll drive down and transport back and forth and help ya lug the water in to fill it. I've got a rig in the back of my truck that will hold all 8 jugs in milk crates without falling over. 8X5= 40 gallons per trip I think i have 9-10 jugs i just never use that many in one shot though. I'm off this weekend

Thanks for the offer. I live too far from you. I will ask the water and ice if I can borrow their jugs.
