Filter floss vs Felt from the fabric store?

I personally don't use filter socks, though I do use filter floss in an InTank type media basket. I've heard a few times that felt is great for polishing the water. I would basically cut the felt to fit into the basket, don't need to do the sock method.

Surprised I didn't turn anything up seaching for this. Thanks!

I have used felt from fabric stores before to make filter socks and they work good. so I wouldn't see why they wouldn't work the way your planning. I say go for it.

Just keep an eye on it so you know when it's time to change it.

In another thread people reference the microns of the felt. I'm making a drastic assumption that no one has ever seen any felt sold with "micron specifications".. :/
