Filter Ideas

What would everyone recomend for Filters on a 540 reef tank? Also how would this change if it was a FOWLR? Money is not a issue, Im looking for what would and our has worked the best on a tank of this size. Please include skimmer ideas.

Is your tank drilled? A refugium would be a good idea, althought if your tank isn't drilled, a HOB overflow isn't the best option (in my opinion), but could suffice.

Tank is drilled with 2 overflows, with 2" bulkheads. A refugium i think would be nice and now looking for options that i can use on a 540 gallon tank? Any plans out there for a good refugium?

What is your tank plumbed to? A sump?

You could just buy a large aquarium that would fit under your stand for the refugium. I am not sure what size would be ideal for a fuge, but considering your large water volume, I would think it would be fairly good sized. You could add a sand bed, liverock, and some macroalgae.

I'm not sure about the skimmer. 58g is the largest that I have kept, so I'm not very familiar with skimmers rated for large tanks.
