Filter replacement for calcium reactor

I purchased a used calcium reactor a while ago and I am ready to set it up now. *Disclaimer* - This will be my first time using a reactor so I have read many forums and watched many videos. This reactor only has one filter, and everything I have seen indicates has one on both sides of the media. The reactor is a PCI and PCI is out of business, so I cannot find replacement parts. However, it looks identical to the older reef octopus CR 140 so I have the manual for the CR 140 to use to help get this setup. The one original sponge/filter that I have is 5" diameter. Does anyone have a recommendation for a foam/sponge material? I also need to make another filter for my sump. While you're here, any recommendation for media would be helpful.

You might be able to get away with vinegar bath. I'd suggest just to replace the sump filter. If it's a filter for the feed pump for the reactor then definitely try a vinegar bath

Are you talking about the sponges on top and bottom? You can find those at pond supply places or fresh water LFS.
