Filter Socks

I have been seeing this term in some post. I have looked them up on verious sights. My Question is do you just put them over you pump intakes. How many should you put in your Tank? I have 5 Powerheads running and a Wet/Dry Filter.

you put it inside the sump @ drain hose going down. The filter sock will catch any dirty / floating stuff that your overflow suck down.

Most local LFS have it for ~$13. I have the 100micron and it makes my tank crystal clear. You gotta clean it regularly though or it will clog (and become a nitrate factory)

for a good cleaning, you can use a pressure washer. gets rid of the staining too. then you can toss it in the washer
