Filter upgrade for Nano Tank

Hello all. I need some input on upgrading my filtration. I have one main question before going into the details: is it ok to run an over-sized skimmer for a smaller tank?

Tank is a 26G bowfront. It's currently running an AquaC Remora hang on back protein skimmer and a CPR Aquatics hang on back refugium. Both are running MJ1200 pumps. Picture below:

I have used the AquaC Remora skimmer for almost 8 years on various tanks that I have. I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade. as far as the refugium goes, I just have it for heater storage and extra water volume, I'm not using it to grow macro algae.

I'm aiming to increase my water volume. Since I don't have room for a sump, I am exploring similar units to what I have, just bigger. CPR aquatics makes a hang on back refugium/skimmer combo, called the Aquafuge PS. I have read reviews on it and folks seem pretty happy with it, and say the skimmer works great.

They have smaller sizes, I want to get the large sized one, so I can get extra volume. I think 4.5 gallons is pretty significant to a 26 gallon setup. Just concerned the over sized skimmer might be overkill, if there is such a thing.

Can someone give me some input on this? Even some other suggestions for filtration options.
