Filtration for a 75G FOWLR?

We are about to set up a 75g fish only tank with live rock.
What is the best type of filtration system for a FOWLR.
I am planning on using a wet/dry with a skimmer and a live sand bed. Is this setup okay? Does anyone have any recommendations for the perfect setup?

What type of fish are you planning on keeping? That will tell you what type of setup you should go with.

The wet/dry and skimmer will work but if you go with a live sand bed you need the right critters to make it work, also you need to determine how deep of a sand bed you want to go with. Also certain fish, like triggers, will mess up your sand bed so it maybe better to go with just a small layer of sand.

There really isn't any perfect "setup" as many different ones work and it's what works best for you. So if your going to travel or be away from time to time a wet/dry mayn't be the thing for you as you need to make sure it doesn't run dry or over flow and cause a flow, also the additional weight that it brings with it. These are some of the reasons that people use canister filters or canister wet/dry filters. So you really need to determine with is going to work for you and then build it from there.

Thanks

I am going with the 30g fuge!

Depending on what type of fish your going to have this doesn't make a lot of sense. Remember this is a Fowlr tank and not a reef tank.

I agree. I sumped my tank. use a UV sterilizer and RO water. Woodywoo helped me do it. he's the one got me into fish keeping.
