Fin damage

My smaller Maroon clown has some damage to one of his fins that I have just noticed. It's in an area where the larger clownfish of the pair usually nips at him. She has never caused any damage before now, is it posible that she could have caused this? If so, will he be alright? They are swimming together now like they always do.

Just make sure you are not disturbing them and just feed them well they recover faster that way

I had to disturb them a bit tonight. I had to make a little cover for the intake on the power head they insist on living on/near.

as long as your not lunging your hands at them, i use to hate it when mine hosted nonliving items.

I'm not thrilled, but they seem determined to stay there...

I just had to cover the intake to protect them and the power head :)

Hi, not to hi-jack your thread but we just picked up our first clown fish yesterday, a yellow striped maroon we now call "Milton" - ya know like Milton Berle (sp?) the funny guy.

Anyways, I noticed it hanging out near the top of the water above a Tunze 25 and I got concerned, I shut the power head off and am now only using one. Do clown actually attempt to host with an inanimate powerhead or were you joking ? We're shopping around for a RBTA so I assume Milton will see the error of his ways soon.

btw....all my parameters are good in a 40 Breeder.

No joke! They unfortunately really do that. My pair hosted a power head for over a month before they figured out that there were actually nice living things in the tank to host in instead of plastic. They can seem a little slow sometimes...
