Wonder what's going on tho if that even is the case or is it something I need to treat with antibioticsI have never seen chromis attack a yellow.
Mine would kick their xxx.
He eats great I am probably under feeding it..so I am feeding more..yeah the chromis are pigs also and go after the food like crazy...I wouldn't say the tang is stressed tho, but the 3 chromis try to gang up on him but nothing really happensHow is it eating? Are the chromis regularly harassing it? Chromis are not great tank residents in my experience (and the very devil to catch). They will regularly bully other fish. It is hard to tell from a picture, but your tang looks a bit stressed/unhealthy though whether from fin rot or harassment I cannot say.
Could be the very beginning of HLLE.
So is he a goner? How the hell did he get that?Yeap. I didn't want to say it out loud though.

So just move to qt for a while since no carbon running and stray voltage?Read this: https://humble.fish/hlle/
So just move to qt for a while since no carbon running and stray voltage?
That's crazy that the type of carbon matters..I did months ago switch from 0.8 to the brs lignite but that's cuz they were out of stock..maybe that is the cause..how would I know which product is causing stray voltage even if I find some? I'll read up on what you sent..No need to QT for HLLE.
Just stop running carbon (or switch over to using a high grade carbon such as Rox 0.8), and test for stray voltage in your DT. Read through the threads below:

Once the above has been remedied, feed only high quality frozen foods, lots of nori and soak both in Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem, etc. Also, maintain good water quality in the tank. Any possible causes will have been addressed so that should fix the problem.
So why aren't my other fish effected with hlle? I have clowns and coral beauty and chromis, but only the tang is affected?
So lame lol

Tangs are more susceptible to HLLE. I don't recall if the reason is known.
+1 Tangs will usually show symptoms of HLLE before most other fish.
If I had to guess I would theorize that the lateral line on tangs is larger and extends deeper in the body than a lot of other body shapes so the effects are seen more dramatically.
