My two clownfish have developed fin rot. I am treating them with Maracyn-Two that I got at my LFS. Has anyone had succuess in treating fish that have fin rot and will the fins grow back to normal?
Thanks George for your reply. I just got these fish from my LFS just a few days ago and started treatment as soon as I noticed the fin rot. That is great to hear that they should recover completely.
Are you sure that it is fin rot and not brooklynella? Bacterial infections are usually not contagious, brooklynella is especially with clownfish. You should read up on brooklynella. The treatment is completely different.
Is this fin rot? We're wondering what's up with our male clown. He looks awful and no other fish are nipping at him. Another forum mentioned possibly fin-rot - and also looked like he had ick too... The discoloration is from getting stung by an alveopora or the torch...
He's acting very normal, eating like a pig -- been like this for couple weeks.... doesn't seem to bother him or any other tankmate...
