So Tank is full (30 Gal) 20 LBS of live sand and 20 LBS of dead sand mixed been in the tank 3 days. Water is crystal clear. SEIO 820 running

PH looks like it is about 8.0 (crapy test kit hard to tell)
Ammonia looks like 0
water temp 79.7
Salt 1.020 (I know its a touch low working on it)

44 LBS Uncured Live rock shows up tomorrow sometime UPS overnight. I am just gonna throw it in there no prep at all. Any last words of advice.?

if you have a skimmer start when the rock arrives, as for prep remove anything that is black or smells real bad, id remove any green algae too, whered you get your rock from?? post some pics tooo :)

When I set up my 20 gallon tank, I started with uncured LR. If I had to do it over again, I would have had a bucket of clean saltwater to rinse my rock in before I put it in the tank. The purpose wouldn't have been to "clean" the rock, but to remove all the rock dust and tiny chunks of rock that had broken during shipping. Just my $0.02.
Good luck with your new tank!!

Got the rock from MarineDepot. I have a Bak Pak skimmer with a bio bale I think I need to take out the bio stuff and just run the skimmer.

As for livestock after the cycle. Maybe 3 fish (1 clown, 1 goby, 1 other) 2 shrimp, cleaning crew. Nothing fancy its a small tank.

I wanted to post some pics but the forum only lets you upload 50K files. What do most people do for uploading pics.?

I will put together a 5 gal bucket of salt water tonight for cleaning the rock in. That is a good idea. I did rinse my sand before I put it in and that was a pain in the butt

what type of rock did you get?

I got the tonga from them about a year and a half ago and it was really nice.

pH test kits are not very accurate. Get yourself a pH monitor or a controller that monitors pH. My vote goes for a controller they are a little more expensive than a monitor but they do so much more. The AC Jr. is nice.

I got the Fiji Premium Live Rock. I dont really need 44 LBS of it but I think I can fit it in there. I have a 5 LB Piece of dead rock in there now that I liked but I might have to take it out to fit everything..
