off to a good start. i think the particulate matter you have floating around your water is a little distracting. if you can't get it out of the water column, maybe you can use the "healing brush" or "clone stamp" feature in Photoshop to get rid of them. He's got a cute pugnacious little face and the color in the background is a nice contrast. It would be great to have him "posed" against more of your reddish/pink colors so his dark coloration will stand out even more. Let's see some more attempts!
Change your depth of field setting (higher I think) so you can get the whole fish in focus, having the fish completley in focus and the background blurry is a cool shot. Also the blackness in the background kinda takes away from the underneath of the fish, try getting your fish to standstill in front of something brighter
