Finally got lights that are right for my tank

Just wanted to telleveryone how very excited I am. I just recieved my compact florresent lights. Now Its good and bright in there and things will grow, my moms not real happy that she can no longer look directly at tha tank without sunglasses(hahahaha).

Hehe! Congrates Christines. Let me know when you are ready and Ill frag you some Candy Canes and Frogspawn. Im pretty sure that the CFs you have will be suffiecient to manage some LPS since you have a shallow tank. Sunglasses? Nah, wait till you get the urge to get some halides. Hey, you seen my tank enough times. For now, start thinking about getting more flow. I hear the new Koralia are pretty good. They sell them at the same place you got your lights and fairly inexpensive. Keep an eye out on this board. There are folks out here who will sell very cheap (even give away free) frags from time to time. You will fill up that 20 gallon in no time.

Here is a link on that Koralia pump. Pump 1 should work. I like this pump since it has a magnet mount.

I've got a 110w CF on my 20 long and my frogspawn seems to be quite happy with the amount of light. Just had to chime in.

I ran PC's for years I still like them, I know the T-5's have more bulb choices, but PC's are a great bulb. I ran some for probably 10 years and never a bulb or ballast or endcap failure. Thats pretty good, and I got one of the first units that came to colorado. I ran 1000 watts of PC over a 180 with no chiller, just a couple small computer fans. If it werent for the shimmer I would still be running pc's. bTW what bulb combo/brand did you go with. Have any pictures? I'm sure someone could post them for you.

i like t5 myself. just cant look anywhere near the bulbs or your eyes will bleed

Russ that powerhead is sweet. To bad they are all on backorder. Do you know of they are coming out with a controller for them?

I got Currents, made by Sattilite. You Can look at them at Salytcritter.com. 24 hour lighting its sweet. I think if I put anything brighter I will boil my tank, its only a 20g

I have no idea if it will have a controller Dan. Maybe the Seio controller would work on it perhaps?

Its doing great, I need to super glue the rock it came on to my other rock since iI cant seem to just wedge it in there, keeps falling away from the spot I want it to stay, I had to rearrange everything again!!

Cool! Actually, it didnt come with a rock. Thats the skeletal structure of the coral. But you can glue that on to the rock too.
