Well everything finally lined up for me to go over and pick it up
What I have got is
190gal 52x24x36 Acrylic tank (Made by Clear something cant remember now,, at work)
1 two-bulb halide set with ballast
1 single bulb halide set with ballast
1 four-bulb florescent set with ballast
Homemade hood with vent fans
Homemade stand, seems to be very solid
40gal glass sump , homemade
3 large powerheads, have to clean to see name
1 complete protein skimmer, looks like parts for at least two more
1 pump for skimmer, unknown flow till I get it cleaned off
1 3600gph return pump, dont know if that is correct just what he said
150lbs "live rock"
80lbs "live sand"
1 clown fish (white stripes with black edges)
1 Humu Picasso Triggerfish
alot of green water and about 200lbs of algae and salt build-up.
This tank was overrun with algae, the live sand had to be hit and broken up to get it out of tank.. Salt build-up everywhere.. He had given up and was ready to get out of the hobby.. Even if I can only use the tank and lights I am ahead by alot... :celeb2:
So far what I have done is::
took the fish to local pet store (good guy been buying from him for years), he is going to put them up for now
dumped the live sand, going to buy fresh
live rock is sitting outside on boards to kill everything off,, may keep some of the larger pieces
been cleaning algae and salt off everything for several hours, using hand and hose pipe
so the questions I have are
What is best to clean the acrylic without scratching or clouding it
What is best way to kill off everything on the live rock
pics of tank as it was when I picked it up
