You know, with that tank you could use vented, LA3's with the glass and sit the reflectors 3-6 inches from the water. Make the most of the par you have.

Yeah, I am really considering going with lumiarcs latter one. When the budget allows. If I do, I will probably go back to the 20k xms.

WHat combo of lights are you using now?

EVC14k and XM10k in the double drilled LA3's. Blend is not what I wish it was, but not bad.

No. I got mine custom from PGS.

PS, I'm currently planning on replacing the xm10k's with either reeflux 10k or cv20k's. They both have par around 125 on cv ballasts, which I have.

Well, not much to add right now. I am filling it with water as quick as my RO unit will make it, with is slow as it is a 50gpd unit.

I picked uip the 2 250 watt set ups yesterday for the prop tank. They are reef stars I think, each one has a 250 watt halide 2 36 watt pc astinics and a fan. They have sps 10k in them now, but I will switch them out to XM 10ks soon.


A friend is running the Blueline 14K in the 175 wat version, they look almost as blue as my old xm 20k.

Okay, little update.

Tank is running ,liverock and sand are in the display, to cloudy to take pics right now though. My upstream frag tank is running, as is the prop tank.

I picked up a new XM 20k and blueline 14K, and tryed them out side by side. Both looked very similer, but, to my eyes, the coraline under the xm looked pinker, and under blueline looked more purple. However, the sand looked pinker under the bl, and whiter under the xm.

As soon as it cleans up, I will post picks! All thats left is to drill the surge tank, get it mounted, and finish making the stand and such look pretty!

I noticed that too. What's holding that up? Are you sure you want to take that chance?

The shelf brackets are steel, each with 3 3" screws going into studs. A carpenter said it would be fine.

The tank pic was with only 2 blue moon bulbs, so, yes, it is a bit dim.
