I finally finished the tank about 2 weeks ago. Everythings been good and I like it so far... Just want a bigger tank. Plus I noticed I want either another supplement of VHO's or another pair of 250/400 watt halides. Anyways, here is the tank.

***Tom: I had to take the top of the stand and level out the stands frame (which was uneven).

I might have to cut down the spending in this hobby since we got a new edition to our already crazy life. His names Bailey after Champ Bailey and this is him sleeping.

Tank looks very nice, How many gallons?
Looks Like you have a ReefKeeper II, I love mine. best money I ever spent. I just updated the firmware to 2.5 and plugged my laptop into it. pretty cool.
The new addition to the family looks a little stressed out:D
A Bronco's Fan? My wife, (Big Denver Fan) says he needs a little Denver Sweater.

Nice racks :D, but I would take the top of the right stack and swap it with top of the stack of the left one, then it will look balanced :D :D . Its probably impossible to move now but its just an observation , hey wait theirs always photshop :D :D

OK how is this ?? :D

The tanks only 75 gallons and for denver attire, I was looking already at a champ bailey jersey ha,ha,ha. Tom, the rocks can be taken off since I drilled one inch holes in order to fit the PVC. The large pieces range from 25-30 pound rocks so they are pretty heavy if I wanted to adjust them. I may look into another flat rock that I can stack but for now I just want to breath and get all my transfer material ( buckets, old stand and tank) out of the living room. Maybe 2-3 months from now I'll have energy again to do more aquascaping. I did choose this style so if I ever got a smaller naso he could do laps around each pillar.

I really like the pvc and rock work. I'm definitly think about it when I move my tank. Nice j ob

Thank everyone. I wish I had more time (Girlfriend was ****ed having about 4-5 large rubber maids in our living. To make things worst is we live in a condo). The white looks bad right know but I know coraline algae will cover it up. I drilled one inch holes in each rock and found out that I rusted the head of my dewalt drill yesterday as I tried to use it. If you want the bit I used contact me. I wish I had a bigger tank and larger rocks! But then again it was hard for me to find 30 pound flat pieces to create ledges. If I do (later down the road) I'm buying it and putting it on the rack. Good thing is that its not all glued/cemented together, just lift it up and interchange it.

Very nice setup, especially since it doesn't look like a pile of rocks leaning against the back wall. Oh, wait, mine kinda looks like a pile of rocks leaning against the back wall. Changed my mind, don't like the open rock structure!!!
j/k, everything looks great. How 'bout some pics of the inside of the stand?

Did you want to see the sump setup or the structure of the stand? My sump isn't really a sump since I can't really go over the weight limit since I'm up stairs, atleast I don't want to test it. I wanted to put a 45 gallon down there. For now, I have a 20 long with my G3 skimmer, mangroves, filter socks/carbon and the return pump.

I'm always interested to see how people have their sumps set up. I will be redesigning the setup for my 250g once I move, and the more ideas the better.

Yeah, I wish I could have done the setup the way I wanted to. I have a large UV sterlizer (I think 35 watts and about 3 to 3.5 feet tall) that I really wanted to use but it would stick out like a sore thumb on the side of the tank! If I do get any expensive fish I'll have to deal with it and set it up. I think a 45 aga is a perfect size but bigger is always welcomed. Oh yeah, thanks for the light tips. Even though I just purchased a set of 400 watt halides ha,ha,ha

What are the dimensions of the tank?
On the UV, is your tank flush with the wall? Seems like you could put it between the wall and the tank near 1 end for access. If you used flex tubing, you might even be able to leave enough excess line to allow you to slide it in and out.
Another possiblity is(depending on if it can be laid on it's side) to put it on top of your canopy. If the tank/stand/canopy is tall enough(and you mentioned 24" canopy height) you would never see it up there.

Tank is 48 long 18 wide I think and what ever high. There is only a 1 inch gap from the wall to the stand. And as far as putting it on top of the canopy, the uv sterlizer has to be up right, so standing 3 feet plus straight up. If I really wanted to make it look nice my buddy and I can always create a matching stand that would be on the side. It would look akward since there would only be extra stand on one side. Here's a link to it:

Just got a new bulb for it too!

Well, the other option is: sell that one and get a shorter UV. I bought an AquaUV 40w that I think is half that height and would be more than enough for your tank. Pain, I know. Man, 3 ft is really long for a 35w. What brand is it?
