finger leather coral -- closed up and has red tips?

Can anyone please help me i have a yellow finger leather and it has been fine for 3-4 months and now it is closed up and has red tips on some of the fingers?


is this a problem or do i leave it alone?

Yellow finger leather with red tips? I think you might have a carnation coral.
If so they are very hard to keep alive in captivity. Got any pics?

this is a yellow finger leather not a carnation we are not confused about what type of coral we know what it is, it has within the last 2 weeks started showing a red color like blood red on the tips of the fingers!

I have a pink, a Medusa and a green finger leather. The green leather appears lite yellow under 10 K . I have never seen red in any of the three and I frag them frequently. The wounds all ways look white. Sorry I couldn't be of help, at least it clears some of it up for the next member.

Possibly a bit of Cyano or Red Slime?

If it's really dark, almost black, it may also be a bacterial infection or getting stung by another coral. Pics would def. help.

What are your water parameters? When was your last water change? What type of filtration are you running?
