My Fiji Leather just died too

My Fiji Leather just died too

I am not sure how much they mess up the tank, did not kill anything in my tank, protien skimmer went nuts. I left mine in until it was black ;-( I guess I was just hoping he would turn around....
I have a long tentacle leather that is doing great though.

I would keep it in for awhile. Don't give up yet. Leather corals have a tendency to get ugly every once in awhile in my opinion. How much flow and light is it getting? I wouldn't get rid of it after two days though. I had a leather that shrunk up, and took over two months to appear healthy again.

What are your water parameters? (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, salt, temp etc)

Is this a newly acquired coral? If so, it's normal for a leather coral to shrink up and appear slightly green.

However, if the leather coral begins to "melt" I would dispose of it immediately. A dying/melting leather coral in a 30g display may be a disaster. I've found them to be rather toxic in small water volumes.

You may want to run carbon.

If you have metal halide lighting move it so it's not directly under the light. Also, too much water flow can have a negative effect.
