Finished Adding Sand

Okay, so I added my sand last night and my water is still extremely cloudy. Should I do a water change?

I wouldn't yet the sand is probably still settling. If its not cleared up in a couple more days you may have bigger problems but I doubt it. Sometimes it just takes a while for the sand to settle to the bottom.

I agree---just keep the maxi on for flow though so there is no more sand storms

A HOB media filter would help remove the fine particales.Dont do ant water changes untill cycle is over.This link will help explaine it more.

I don't think I'll need to recycle.

I already had some sand and liverock already in there. I decided I wanted a DSB, so I bought more sand and added it.

I dont think it will recycle but it could experiance a mini cycle. THen you say its 2 months old so you shouldnt have any stock to worry about anyway.Just monitor readings and go from there.

Did you rinse the sand first? I like to rinse the sand just to get rid of the super duper fine particulate dust before puting it in a tank.
