After problems with another kind of moonlights I decided to DIY my own with the help of Oak strips and parts from the Lebos. Made 3 strips for my 90,65 and 29g tanks and added 2 LEDS to my sons Nano and total cost was under 50.00 for all. Spent most of today putting them all together. It was a good DIY project but soldering all those LEDs and making sure of the heat levels took more time than I planned..
I cut and drilled holes for the LEDs in some red oak strips while waiting for the Lebos parts order:
Here is what came in the mail. All parts are not shown but have 4 power supplies and 30 LEDs, 2 Ohm variances for brightness. I bought 2 lots of resistors in different Ohms for flexibility.
LEDs all soldered up:
Final product after wiring all the LEDs together and adding the power supplies. These came out with a nice blue that really adds to the tanks. Just need to glue the backs on and make sure they are sealed good and put into action:
