Finished my DIY Moon Light Strips

After problems with another kind of moonlights I decided to DIY my own with the help of Oak strips and parts from the Lebos. Made 3 strips for my 90,65 and 29g tanks and added 2 LEDS to my sons Nano and total cost was under 50.00 for all. Spent most of today putting them all together. It was a good DIY project but soldering all those LEDs and making sure of the heat levels took more time than I planned..

I cut and drilled holes for the LEDs in some red oak strips while waiting for the Lebos parts order:

Here is what came in the mail. All parts are not shown but have 4 power supplies and 30 LEDs, 2 Ohm variances for brightness. I bought 2 lots of resistors in different Ohms for flexibility.

Final product after wiring all the LEDs together and adding the power supplies. These came out with a nice blue that really adds to the tanks. Just need to glue the backs on and make sure they are sealed good and put into action:

spf9992001,
Its just flat red oak stock you get out of the bins at lowes. The bottoms are the 1x2"( 3/4 x 1 1/2") stock with a channel routered down the centers and the top is a flat about 1/4" red oak piece where the leds just fit through holes I drilled. They come in 2,3 and 4 ft pieces so it worked out great for each of the tanks :)
The coloring you see if from 3 coats of natural poly on them to stand up to the moisture/salt a little bit
