Tony,

Can you explain how it works? I thought you needed Co2 and all that jazz for the Calcium to be released from the media.

Thanks,

Jon

i'll explain how it works & give out a list of parts & how to build it once i'm sure i have any kinks worked out of the design.
all in all it costs about 140 dollars to build if you include the plumbing and the maxi jet pump.

Yeah, I'd be interested to know the history.. like this is where I was, this is what I was doing, and now this is where i'm going and what benfits your getting or expect to get.

Tony,

If your going to write something up about it. May I suggest you enter it at ncpars.org in the DIY section.

sounds like a plan, I just want to make absolutely sure i have every bug and kink worked out before i have other people taking a shot at it. fair warning though, it's not the easiest thing to build. Basically i built it because my aunts 20 gallon sps reef was starting to suck up calcium and alk so fast that i couldn't hope to keep up without sending the corals into shock. So i built this little reactor. it raised the dkh from 7 to 11 overnight and it hasn't moved since. In a few more weeks i'll know how the corals are responding.
