Finishing the system

Finally getting around to replacing my old tank in the basement. Pulled out the old 200 that was crazed and replacing it with a 240.
It will be tied into the existing system.

Holy big azz picture, Batman! Looks very nice. What are you doing on this tank?

Finishing the system

Tanks coming in next week. Need a few bodies if anyone's game and free on a Thursday afternoon.
Might even get a few frags :)

Initially it will hold my overstock of coral.

I am doing an external overflow to be as clean as possible. I will likely build a removable paneled rock wall for the back. Once that is done I'm thinking a Tonga style structure through the middle.

Sps alone the top and lps on the bottom. Acan, torches, chalice.

Eventually high end only. Lighting it up with 3 orphek full size panels and or3's bars with tunze pumps.

Wanting to keep it as clean as possible. Then mass small fish with only a few tangs for algae control.

Super excited about this one. Doing it right from the start.

Sounds like this will be a really nice setup! What time are you thinking on Thursday? I normally work until 5 but might be able to swing out a little bit early. I'm only about 10-15 min from you.

Not sure yet on time yet. Hoping to see when my other buddy will have his trailer for this one. Too long for a regular truck. If the two of us can just get it off the truck then later evening is just fine.

I'll know more Monday or Tuesday when we start getting better time lines with the delivery.

It will be an easy install. Walk in basement with no hard angles. And just need to set on stand.

Plumbing will be super easy. Need to cut two circles out on the ends on the back wall for the rear corner returns. And cut a square hole center back wall right below the trim line for the shadow external overflow.

Been thinking of a large in-line UV hung on the back wall. Not sure if it's worth it or not.

Anyone have options on the UV?

If our timing works out I might be able to come out and help. My son is supposed to help me finish the plumbing on my tank Thursday

Thanks all. The tank came in early. How is everyone's schedule for Wednesday early evening? Thursday is still possible. They would just prefer to have it out ASAP. I can have it at the house anytime after 4pm
