Hello,

I am interested in buying a finnex 30 gallon but am puzzled on which lighting option to get. If i choose MH i can either have 150w or 250w. And both MH options come with two t5s. If i choose t5 lighting it comes with 9 led lights and i think it makes the corals colors stand out more. Didnt want to buy a chiller but will if necessary. it is winter right now so prob not a problem.
I hope to keep some sps and maybe a clam.

any advice would be great or another AIO system but lighting is very important to me. Thanks!

Are you considering the Finnex T5 fixture? If so, it's one of the best T5 fixtures you can buy, and they aren't very expensive either (for the quality of the fixture and individual reflectors).. Found the 24" on eBay for $170 + S&H.

24 x 18 x 17 * 24W x 4 (2 daylight, 2 actinic blue) + 9 pcs 1 watt LED (ocean blue) Fixture

thats the dimensions and setup for the t5 option

I'd think so.. SPS up in the upper tier of the tank, and the clam on the lower LR, if possible.

I'd really be more concerned with water quality than light output, initially. If you don't have the water quality needed, no amount of light is going to get the coral or clams to grow.
